Frequently asked questions
What size should a Kick emote be?
Kick accepts square PNG or GIF emotes up to 500×500 pixels and under 1 MB. This tool always outputs a square file within those limits: animated sources become a GIF, still images become a PNG.
How do I make a wide GIF square without distorting it?
Auto square first removes the empty space around the content in every frame, then squeezes the remaining difference as much as you allow and fills the rest with transparency. If you would rather keep only part of the frame, switch to Crop and pick a square area.
Can I turn a video into a Kick emote?
Yes. Upload an MP4, WebM or MOV file up to 50 MB, choose up to 10 seconds and a frame rate, and the tool converts it into a GIF that fits Kick's limits.
How does the tool keep the GIF under 1 MB?
It encodes the GIF, measures the file and, if needed, lowers the resolution, drops every other frame and reduces the number of colors until it fits. Resolution goes first because emotes are shown small in chat.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding, resizing and GIF encoding all run in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
